You can not right click on GIF images to stop them playing in your browser window like Macromedia Flash Videos. Here is a very easy and simple trick to prevent GIF images to playing in browser window.

Disable GIF Animations :
These steps will permanently disable playing of GIF images. There are the steps for Internet Explorer browser and Mozilla Firefox.
For Internet Explorer: To stop GIF animated images in Internet Explorer, just go to Tools-->Options-->Advance. Now scroll down and uncheck the option under Multimedia option 'Play animations in web pages'.
For Mozilla Firefox: To stop GIF animations in Mozilla Firefox browser, just type about:config and change the value of image.animation_mode string from normal to none.
